Box Cameras

here are some of my box cameras I collect. I really love art deco and that is what attracted me to these. All of these are from between late 20s to early 40s. Some are kodak, the bear one is an Ansco camera and the last photo with the arches is a Marvel

Green Beau Brownie

 

As promised here is my green beau brownie made from 1930-31. It is the 2A model. I opened this camera up and was surprised to find film in ti. I closed it up quick and I hope I didn't ruin it. I want to try and get it developed...I'm just not sure where to do that since no one deals with116 film anymore. I'd develop it myself but sadly I don't have a dark room. :( Hope you all enjoy! I'll post some others from my collection tomorrow:)

Rochester Optical Company Premo B

 

This guy was made between 1894-1901. I have it on display with a wooden tripod. It's the 4x5 model and it is made of mahogany covered in leather. The metal parts such as the lens is made of brass. This guy even came with it's original glass plate. This is all I know about this particular camera so if you know more please feel free to share!  

I thought I'd start of with my Beau Brownie Collection. I still need the brown one and the green one is on the way! I'll be sure to post it as soon as it arrives. These little cuties were made from 1930-33 and come in the model 2 the smaller size and 2A the larger size. They were designed by Walter Dorwin Teague . The Rose and the green beau brownies are exceptionally hard to find because they were only made from 1930-31. The first one I have photographed for you is the Rose Beau Brownie model 2A. This is the only 2A I have in my collection, I got it because the rose color is just so hard to find and it happens to be my favorite out of the 5 colors. The next one is the blue model 2 and the other one is red and black model 2. The red and black one was the first of these I bought. I look forward to one day having all the colors. Sure it would be nice to have each color in the 2 and 2A model, but i have to pace myself :)
